WE made it!
Ciao Everyone... Sorry its been a while! We have wanted to write but the last week has been a whirlwind to say the least. After 36 hours of traveling, we made it to Rome (Roma) and just had an amazing time there. We crammed A LOT into our 3 days there and were able to visit all of the main sites including The Vatican, The Colosseum, The Spanish Steps, The Forum in old Rome, The Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon, etc. etc. We went from 7am-12am every day and mixed in a ton of pasta, pizza, and gelato. Its all been beyond words and we have so many great photos already and have just had a blast. The history is unbelievable, the art incredible and the food is to die for!
From Rome we went to a little town in Tuscany (outside of Sienna) called Castelnuovo Berardenga and stayed at an wine and olive oil estate/farm called Felsina! It was gorgeous and they hosted our stay there and took us on a private tour and tasting of both the wine and olive oil (we will be buying the wine so I can have some in about 7 months)... =). We had a lot of fun in this little town. The locals were fun to watch and we even found a "saturday market" type deal with about 30 vendors on Thursday- it was neat to see all the fruit, veggie, and flower stands in addition to all of the locally made items, clothing and shoes.
Yesterday we arrived in Florence (Firenze) and it too is just amazing. These places are so beyond anything we have in the US that its hard to believe they are real. We went to Accademia and saw Michelagelos most famous sculpture of David this morning! We have a lot to see and do in this city but are excited to go to the Uffizi tomorrow where a lot of Michelangelos paintings are, the Duomo and also shop, shop, & shop (ok, Ryans not too excited about this but I am). There are tons of fashionable stores and of course all of the street vendors selling leather goods, scarfs, etc!
We have a ton of priceless photos and wish we could upload some of them but we cant put our USB card into the computers at these internet cafes. Sean and Jillian are posting blogs as we speak though and will be putting some photos on there (www.seanjillian.blogspot.com). We will try again at our next stop in a couple of days and if we cant do it then will definitely post a bunch when we get back.
Needless to day, we are having a fabulous time and are very blessed that we were able to break away from our lives in Oregon to come here. We are both doing great and the baby is getting big (or maybe its just my belly because of the twice a day gelato, breakfast pastries and pasta!!)).
On Monday we are headed to Venice for a few days and will try again to post there. Hopefully we will have internet in our room and then we may be able to get some photos up using Seans laptop!
We hope all is well with each of you!
Love and Hugs...

Baby Gone Wild...
(Picture taken by Grandma Boatsman in Arizona about a month ago.)Yesterday we had our 19 week ultrasound and everything is looking great! We even got to count all the fingers and toes! The ultrasound took twice as long as it usually does because Baby Boatsman was squirming around. Seems that the baby was upset that Mommy had filled her bladder and it wasn't leaving enough room to play. I (Ryan) got to watch most of the ultrasound but Marie had to hear the play-by-play from me since she had to lay still and couldn't see the screen. From the looks of it, our baby will be taking after its great-grand-father, Bill Boatsman (a professional boxer in his early years), since the baby was giving Mommy's badder a few left and right hooks. Even Tim, the medical person doing the ultrasound, said that our baby was VERY active and he even admitted that it looked like the baby was throwing some combo punches. I am sure that it didn't help that Mommy had a granola bar before the ultrasound too. I am sure it was just like a power bar for the baby.
This was the first time that we got to see definite features of the baby. From what I saw, it looks like it has some really long legs and big feet. Tim was also trying his best to make us change our minds about finding out if Baby Boatsman is a boy or a girl. We held strong, but he didn't make it easy. He said that we were the first couple this year that didn't find out! He said that he does about 20 ultrasounds a week so we are definitely not following the pack with our decision!! I admit that it was hard to not find out, but we have made it half way through the pregnancy without knowing and it is only about 20 more weeks. It is only weird to think that Tim knows and we don't, but he was nice and didn't even give us any hints.
We are getting packed for our big Europe trip and are we are getting excited! It is hard for Marie to pack since her baby belly is blooming this spring! I just keep trying to convince her that she will look cute in anything that she wears. Well, we will try to post a few blogs with Sean and Jillian on our trip, so you can check it out at http://seanjillian.blogspot.com/ .
