By now, you all know that we are expecting a little one towards the end of August! Now that the "all day" sickness (morning wasn't the half of it) is gone and I am feeling human again, things have finally sunk in a bit more for us. Before we shared the news with anyone it really didn't seem real and each day just seemed like a struggle (for me physically and poor Ryan mentally probably since he had to deal with me being sick and not being able to do anything)! Now, I am getting back to being productive and we have started picking out things and planning which has been a lot of fun! I think this is where enjoying pregnancy begins...
I am about 17.5 weeks and have a definite baby bump!! We have officially ordered our crib (and finally decided on the color), dresser, and stroller! We also picked out the bedding and have a plan to start working on the baby's room soon!
We decided that we are not going to find out if we will be having a boy or girl!!! We know this is going to be extremely hard but we feel that it will be 110% worth the wait as in our opinion there is no greater surprise in life than this! Ryan will also get to walk out of the delivery room and say "it's a _____" which is a hard experience to pass up!
We had a check up on Friday and everything is going great! The baby has a heartbeat of 150bpm (was 160 a month ago) and we got to schedule our big 20 week ultrasound for Friday, April 3rd! I will be exactly 19 weeks that day so wont quite be at 20 yet but we really wanted to squeeze it in before we leave for Italy the following week!
Here is the picture from the last ultrasound we had at 9 and a half weeks! During this ultrasound, the baby was moving its head back and forth and its little arms (or arm buds at this point in time) around. Its amazing to think that even at 9.5 weeks (which is really only 7.5 weeks since Doctors base everything off of your last period date or about 2 weeks prior to conception) that the baby was already this active and developed (we could see its spinal column and also the sides of its brain, & heart)! Needless to say, we are beyond excited to see how much the baby has grown since this photo was taken!! We will post those ultrasound pictures as soon as we have them in addition to some baby bump photos soon!
Stay tuned...
